"Immunotherapy for the New Century" (IT-2006) is the continuation of a series of international workshops organized by the Center of Molecular Immunology (CIM), in Havana. The main goal of these meetings has been to promote intensive discussions on how to build a bridge between tumor immunology and autoimmunity, and how to translate scientific discoveries into the clinical setting.
IT-2006 is the seventh edition of these meetings, which have taken place every two years starting in 1994, and have counted with the contributions of many researchers from many different countries. Future-oriented discussions are promoted, encouraging participants to go beyond the description and interpretation of the experiments already done, and to move into proposals of critical testable questions and new experiments.
The number of participants in the workhop is limited (less than 150), to create an atmosphere that favors intensive discussions.Participation is based on invitations extended by the Organizing Committee to selected scientists. More than 70 researchers from abroad have expressed their interest in attending IT-2006.
